Kira from the 3rd division made a trek over today and helped me with paperwork pertaining to training sessions. I can't help but doubt his leadership skills somewhat, as he seemed very preoccupied with staring at my face rather than focused on the task at hand. Then again, perhaps that's why Yama-jii has called for training sessions between our two groups. He could definitely use some discipline training.

Perhaps I am too harsh. He is only a vice-captain, after all. I have a sneaking suspicion he was hoping to train with me, however. Fortunately I didn't have to squash that desire. Hopefully I won't have to in the future. I don't think he'll be ready any time soon.

I ponder more strongly why Yama-jii wants us to learn "ambush response" since it seems that a disciplined squad would have no problem dealing with an ambush. Perhaps this is really more for the third squad's benefit. It's not like their last attempt at a leader exhibited much in the way of "discipline," anyway. Then again, neither did Tousen, in the end...

I wonder how the ryoka and the others are faring with their attempts at training. Perhaps it would be worth our time to approach them with the possibility of an alliance? Yama-jii will hear nothing of the sort.

Rumors are about that Yama-jii plans on starting some training regimes between the divisions. I'm not sure what to think about this. It seems a bit reckless, to say the least. Whoever ends up training with the 11th (or, rather, against the 11th) will probably end up with more casualties than the 4th knows what to do with. Unohana's going to have her hands full if they go through with this...

Then again, Yama-jii knows best.

At least he's better than that damn-fool Urahara who's eloped with Yoruichi to start up this "New Movement" under the banner of that ryoka boy. Some leader he must be. Encouraging people to use Aizen's own logic to fight Aizen? Ridiculous. To do that would bow to the entire secession... to do that would be to admit he's right...

But if I am to beat him with my own power... would it be... necessary?

Of course not, right? Yama-jii... knows best...
